The Carpenters table was formed in In
2001 by a concerned group of people from Tyger River
Presbyterian Church, Joy Lutheran Church and
Nazareth Presbyterian Church. A food pantry
was established to provide assistance to people
suffering from food scarcity on the west side of
Spartanburg County. In 2004 there were just 32
families served by the food pantry. Currently, our
Outreach Center serves hundreds of households each
month.
Our primary goal is to lessen hunger in our Upstate
community by distributing food to those in need
while providing information about
nutritional/dietary issues and preserving the
dignity of those served.
